What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collect, manage, and analyze data on patients diagnosed with cancer
- Abstract, code, and report cancer statistics to ensure data accuracy and quality
- Maintain a comprehensive cancer database in accordance with American College of Surgeons requirements
- Meet productivity goals related to data abstraction and case finding
- Assist with annual follow-up of patients in the cancer registry database
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in a relevant field
- Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist with the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in database management
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tumor registry
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with cancer treatment data
- Familiarity with data entry processes and cancer registry standards
- Additional certifications or continuing education in oncology data management
