      JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

      The Pennsylvania State University, Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), University Park has openings for two part-time Clinical Service Provider positions available beginning August 8, 2023. Hours worked are 16 to 24 hours per week during the academic year only.

      Responsibilities include providing phone triage, urgent assessment/stabilization/follow-up, and short-term individual therapy. Supervision is provided for a successful applicant who is wanting to accrue supervised hours toward licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

      Preference is given to candidates who have experience providing services to diverse populations, such as, but not limited to, underrepresented students, international students, and sexual &/ gender diverse students.

      A master’s degree in social work or a related discipline is required. Licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Clinical Social Worker or Professional Counselor is required. Current licensure as a Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker is preferred.

      This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:

      • PA State Police Criminal Background Check

      • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form

      • FBI Criminal Background Check

      State College, PA, a university town, with a population of 105,000 (which includes the State College borough and surrounding townships) was recently cited as one of the top university towns in the United States. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are 3 to 4 hours from State College and Baltimore is about 3 hours. State College and the university provide the major intellectual, cultural, and recreational resources for central Pennsylvania.
