      As a Pharmacy Resident, you will work closely with the Director of Pharmacy, Residency Program Director and other preceptors to establish and refine resident activities and experiences as part of a one-year Postgraduate Program (Cleveland Clinic Florida PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency). In this course, you will receive extensive training in all areas of Hospital Pharmacy Practice, including related research and educational instruction. As you progress and learn, you can walk away every day knowing your efforts will ultimately help propel the Pharmacy field forward, enhance patient care and facilitate lasting changes in your community.

      A caregiver in this position works varying hours between 7:00am and 11:00pm.

      A caregiver who excels in this role will:

      • Monitor IV to PO's and renal dosage adjustments on a daily basis and place such work on pharmacy intervention program for DOP to review.
      • Generate high numbers of cost saving interventions.
      • Provide articles for pharmacy newsletter publication.
      • Monitor Microbiology cultures and antibiotic usage on a daily basis.
      • Monitor pharmacokinetics daily, recommending appropriate level draws and dosage adjustments.
      • Monitor daily drug use evaluations, making recommendations when medications are used outside established criteria for use.
      • Place information on shared drive/binder daily.
      • Contribute drug monographs and/or drug reviews for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, providing cost efficacy analysis.
      • Provide Nutrition Support Therapy with the Nutrition Support team.
      • Record patient duration and indication for TPN in shared drive.
      • Report to quarterly meeting of Nutrition support service with clinical dietitian.

      Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

      • Candidates must be completing or have completed a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
      • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current State within 90 days of being hired as a Clinical Pharmacy Resident
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire if administering immunizations
      • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire if responding to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events

      Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

      • Pharmacy experience

      Physical Requirements:

      • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
      • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
      • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

      Personal Protective Equipment:

      • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
