      NVIDIA is looking for research interns to work on the development of large language models (LLMs) and systems.

      This position focuses in particular on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for Question-Answering systems. You will be investigating the best practices to build, finetune and evaluate models for retrieval, re-ranking, answer generation. You might also explore best practices for data curation/preparation for training our foundation models. We believe that cross-team with engineers and researchers working together lead to successful applied research in real-world products.

      What you'll be doing:

      • Research, implement and evaluate state-of-the-art models for retrieval, re-ranking, answer generation for Q&A systems

      • Research, design and implement novel models for RAG

      • Contribute to NVIDIA LLM products by evaluating and extending it with additional models

      • Investigate best practices data curation/preparation for training our foundation models

      • Work closely with other researchers and engineers team members

      What we need to see:

      • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering

      • Strong background of theory and practice of LLM and foundation model, as well as deep learning

      • Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

      • Excellent Python and PyTorch programming skills

      • Track record on NLP / LLMs / RAG publications

      • Strong communication, interpersonal and planning skills

      The hourly rate for our interns is $19 - $93. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
