      Position Description

      KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

      KBR typically execute highly technical traditional energy projects and are developing into renewable energy projects. The candidate should be willing to learn new skills and develop in a large range of areas including Onshore, Offshore, LNG, Floating, Refining and Petrochemical. KBR are also committed to expanding in renewable energy sectors including wind, biofuel, carbon capture and hydrogen.

      We are looking for an enthusiastic Principal Piping Materials Engineer who has several years of experience working on high paced projects. The role requires someone that is keen to build on their skills in conventional energy projects and develop skills on energy transition projects. Responsible for design, specification and services related to piping engineering including piping material specification, piping material line classes, standard and specialty piping components. Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements and unsuitability of conventional materials.

      The position is based in KBR’s Leatherhead Campus. Flexible working can be discussed, however the expectation is that the role will be office based.

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Develop deliverables including Piping Material Classes, Technical Specifications and Requisitions.
      • Interface with other engineering disciplines as well as supporting disciplines.
      • Work individually or as part of a team in the home office and abroad.
      • Communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
      • Liaison with suppliers and vendors
      • Committed to multi-centre project execution.
      • Adhere to KBR WAY engineering standards and procedures as well as provide input to their development and enhancement.

      Skills / Experience:

      Essential

      • Knowledge of applicable industry standards (ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, API, BS EN etc).
      • Experience of working on Projects requiring PED (CE Marking)/UKCA approval
      • Technical knowledge of different Valves and Special Piping Items
      • Experience on large FEED and EPC projects.
      • Forward thinking and happy to challenge the way we work and contribute the development of the KBR WAY.
      • Experience in the specification of materials including super duplex, stainless steel, carbon steel and non-metallic piping.
      • Keen to knowledge share with Engineers located in Leatherhead and in other offices.
      • Good communication skills.

      Qualifications :

      • Mechanical Engineering Degree (BEng) or Material Engineering Degree (BEng)
      • Chartered Engineer Status
