Job Description

- Manages the Point of Care testing programs in assigned areas.
- Facilitate and manage the initiation of new programs. Identify existing Point of Care Testing programs system wide and implement consolidation and standardization strategy goals as directed by the Point of Care Medical Director and the Associate Director, Accreditation.
- Collect quality metrics, review findings, and identify gaps and risks.
- Implement process improvements to mitigate risk.
- Monitor test results and quality control results for all testing areas.
- Participate in Continual Readiness Rounds, and conduct audits and mock inspections to ensure compliance and accreditation readiness.
- Prepare for and participate in accreditation inspections/surveys.
- Develop action plan/response to deficiencies.
- Manage accreditation and compliance activities; e.g., training records, competency records, instrument validation, test procedure development/revision/review, etc.
- Travel to various Cleveland Clinic sites most days and interact with Point of Care site point person(s).
- Act as a Point of Care compliance educator and consultant to clinical operational staff.
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Technologist
- Valid Driver’s License
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Additional experience in quality assurance or quality auditing

Job Details
Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.
The Point of Care Specialist – Quality (Waived Testing) oversees and ensures regulatory and accrediting compliance for waived Point of Care Testing programs across Florida Cleveland Clinic Hospitals, Family Health Centers, physician practices, and community hospitals. Based at Martin with regular travel to assigned sites, this role implements the standardized Point of Care program under the direction of the Medical Director and Associate Director, Accreditation, while maintaining the Quality Management System. Responsibilities include monitoring quality metrics, analyzing data, identifying compliance gaps, driving process improvements, and serving as a compliance educator and consultant to clinical and operational staff.
A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, three days on-site and two days at home after completing the new hire period.
