      Amazon is seeking a highly proactive and relationship-driven Media Relations and Strategy Specialist to build and scale media relationships that drive storytelling opportunities and business impact. This role focuses on cultivating strong connections with journalists, editors, creators, and influencers while developing mechanisms to track engagement and convert relationships into meaningful coverage opportunities.


      Key job responsibilities
      In this role, you will contribute to business-wide media relations strategy and execution, building a robust network of reporter and influencer contacts across technology, consumer, and business media. You'll proactively generate story leads through ongoing relationship management, identifying opportunities to connect Amazon's innovations with the right media voices at the right time.

      You will develop and implement program management systems to track reporter contacts, monitor open leads, and measure relationship health across your media network. Through strategic outreach and consistent engagement, you'll create a pipeline of coverage opportunities that support business objectives and enhance Amazon's reputation.

      This is a hands-on role where you'll craft compelling press materials and pitches, monitor media coverage and emerging trends, and analyze public sentiment to inform strategy. You'll work collaboratively across org-wide teams to prioritize opportunities, balance competing demands, and ensure seamless execution of media relations programs. - 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
      - Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
      - Experience with strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
      - Bachelor's degree or equivalent
      - Proven track record of building and maintaining productive relationships with journalists and media contacts.
      - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.- Can work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks
      - Strong interpersonal and networking abilities with proven success fostering trust with media contacts.
      - Experience developing systems or mechanisms to track media relationships and measure engagement.
      - Understanding of the media landscape with ability to anticipate trends and identify story opportunities.
      - Collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

      The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
