  Description

  We are seeking a talented Cloud Platform Principal Architect to lead our journey of Tech Modernization as we migrate strategic workloads to the public Cloud environments. The ideal candidate for this position should have extensive experience with architecting and designing enterprise Cloud platforms and infrastructure. This role ensures that the migrated workloads have optimal performance, continuity and efficiency in virtualized, on-demand environments. This role will provide strategic guidance to the Cloud migration and execution teams. This Architect will also have an industry view of all the emerging tech that may be utilized to achieve our best outcome.

  Responsibilities

  - Lead and oversee Cloud transformation initiatives, including app modernization, migration, and optimization

  - Develop Cloud platform architecture, ensuring security, performance, and cost optimization

  - Drive the adoption of Kubernetes and containerization strategies in Cloud environments

  - Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and best practices using tools such as Terraform

  - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align cloud architecture with business objectives
  - Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Cloud engineering teams

  - Create platform solutions at our CSPs to enable application teams to execute CI/CD pipeline deployments of their applications into defined Landing Zones

  - Create and review technical designs and decisions, help the organization to become more proficient in using public Cloud platforms and services

  - Collaborate with technical and business leadership to define technical direction

  - Stay abreast of leading edge technologies and architectural patterns to make the best technology decisions

  - Lead the “current state” to “future state” transformation with focus on agility and speed to value

  - Evangelize the platform’s technical vision and architecture to the teams, leadership, and external stakeholders

  - Provide recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, and as an advanced subject matter expert

  Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud architecture

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing Cloud-based infrastructures in a large enterprise

  • Proven enterprise expertise in app modernization, Cloud migration, and optimization strategies

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Healthcare experience with implementing cloud-based solutions that meet regulatory standards for data (HIPAA)

  • Deep understanding of Cloud platform architecture, including security, scalability, and performance considerations

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization technologies

  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges

  • Experience working in SAFe methodology

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator, or similar, are highly desirable

  Work-At-Home Requirements

  • To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
    • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
    • Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
    • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
    • Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
    • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  Interview Format:
  As part of our hiring process for this opportunity, we will be using an exciting interviewing technology called Modern Hire to enhance our hiring and decision-making ability.
