      The role we are seeking to fill sits within the Business Transformation team in our Transportation business, which has an excellent record of delivery for a wide range of clients, including some of the largest public and private sector organisations in the UK, particularly in rail, highways, and local transport markets.       Based in our Transport Consultancy and Advisory (TC&A) practice, our Business Transformation team is supporting leaders to think differently by re-aligning their strategic priorities, providing support to re-organise their businesses and develop processes to support new operations. We help uncover and then overcome cultural and organisational challenges which are hindering success.

      The Individuals:

      • We are looking to recruit talented individuals that are passionate about leading excellence in transformation and complex business change. Like our team, these individuals will take pride in delivering an authentic and hands-on-approach to understand our clients business challenges and help achieve their ambitions.
      • The roles we hope to fill will enhance our existing business consulting expertise: strategy setting; organisational and operational design; implementing and managing transformational change programmes, including cultural and behavioural leadership; business performance improvement; benefits realisation; and complex stakeholder engagement.
      • You will have responsibility for managing client-facing work from the outset, building, and fostering a network of professional working relationships, where you understand and help our clients solve multi-faceted business issues. As a highly skilled and experienced member of the team you will lead projects and workstreams, bringing together the skills of the team and wider business, to deliver measurable outcomes.
      • You will be expected to support achievement of challenging operational and consultancy revenue targets, undertaking bid management and delivery activity, and providing input to the development and delivery of our transportation strategy.
      • The roles can be based in any of our London, Epsom, Birmingham, Warrington, Manchester, or Cardiff offices. Travel to attend client sites across the UK and occasionally overseas, as required, is key.

      What you can bring:

      We are looking for people that bring a blend of consulting capabilities and a deep understanding of transformation techniques to suit different situations.

      • These might include:
        • Strategy development-both business and delivery.
        • Operational improvement and organisational development.
        • Business process improvement-continuous improvement.
        • Change and implementation management.
        • Cultural and behavioural development.
        • Research and analysis.
      • In particular we are seeking individuals with excellent client-facing experience developing and leading teams to deliver:
        • Operational Effectiveness -driving identification and realisation of operational effectiveness improvement plans and/or operational excellence strategy,
        • Complex business change – developing and implementing change strategies to drive positive transformation

      You will need to:

      • Hold at least a degree or equivalent qualification (post-graduate qualification and relevant technical certifications in change/business development activity would be desirable).
      • Hold or be willing to work towards Chartered Management Consultant (ChMc) status.
      • Be able to lead across competing tasks and operate successfully even when under pressure.
      • Be a highly collaborative individual, developing and maximising the value of stakeholder networks within and outside Atkins, including with our market facing teams.
      • Have well-developed emotional intelligence with the ability to flex your style to suit different stakeholders and support others in your team to do the same as part of wider development activity.
      • It is also essential that you can provide technical assurance of other’s deliverables, have excellent written communication skills, and can present, deliver, and oversee outcomes which are compelling, accurate, and engaging both to clients and in support of our business development and work winning activities.
      • A background in the Transportation sector is of interest but is not essential.
