Position As a member of the Investment Due-Diligence team, the individual will oversee the investment offering in the private markets space. The individual will develop and execute the strategy of growing the private markets offering by exploring new business opportunities and innovative offerings to expand the Company’s investment options. The mandate includes responsibility for investing and managing the Company’s private equity fund of funds as well as curating and diligencing private market investment opportunities for portfolios. Responsibilities Provide strategic and tactical direction in all aspects of the development, implementation, procedures, and ongoing monitoring of the Company’s private markets investment offering Perform appropriate initial and ongoing due diligence on prospective and existing private market investment funds Refine current diligence procedures to bring scalability to our practices Member of the Manager Approval Committee Present due-diligence reports and status to various committees in the organization (e.g. Transaction Review Committee, Investment Committee, Risk Committee) Collaborate with Distribution and the Alternative Investments teams to curate best in class private markets investment opportunities for Private Advisors and Clients. Source, diligence, recommend and cultivate access to top-tier private investment funds, principally in the United States, although global private equity managers may also be incorporated in the private equity program from time to time Gather information and analyze other "funds of funds" and investment vehicles for comparative purposes Develop performance reports, asset class commentary, and oversee investor reporting Draft regular communications and oversight of administrative reporting for all private equity fund of fund vehicles Act as a resource to Private Advisors on consulting on alternative investment opportunities Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Supervision on diligence and regulatory matters Participate in a variety of other firm activities and projects as needed Qualifications Expertise and experience in researching alternative investments (hedge funds, private equity, private credit, real assets, directs/co-investments) Experience in evaluating ESG related investments is a plus Bachelor’s Degree. A concentration in economics, business, finance or another technical field is desirable. 7-10 years of manager research or other relevant investment experience Background in due diligence at private wealth management firm is preferred MBA, CFA or CAIA designation is preferred (but not required) Series 7 registration Skills Strong analytical and technical skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Prompt follow-up and responsiveness. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, FactSet and Bloomberg. Compensation Range The anticipated base salary range for this role is $220,000 to $235,000. Base salary for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. In addition, this role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
