- Finding and cleaning data - Compiles, reviews, and analyzes data. Operates a personal computer to verify, input and correct data required for producing reports. Also researches data for, and assists in the preparation of, management, operations, technical and administrative reports. Utilizes management memoranda, fiscal and operations reports and data to complete assignments.
- Fact-checking, proofing, and sourcing reports and internal websites - Reviews and updates internal departmental websites for correct information and editing, correcting, and updating the website to ensure proper references to current department policies, practices, and procedures.
- Produces tangible work product specific to the assigned groups to include presentations, reports, correspondence, graphic representation of data and/or project plans.
- Reviews reports to identify problems based upon standard criteria and guidance from supervisors; recommends solutions as instructed.
- Participates in training sessions related to various functions performed by the source to settle team to which assigned; attends appropriate office meetings, etc., to gain exposure to the contracting and procurement and payment functions.
- Participates in and/or leads departmental meetings, working sessions, etc.
- Enrolled in a Baccalaureate or master’s degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 of a possible 4.0.
- Two years college is preferred. Healthcare administration, Business, Accounting, Finance or related major is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Ability to learn computer systems and Web applications.
- Ability to work in a team environment with changing demands and timelines
- Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a remote environment
- Highly motivated with a desire to learn
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary in dealing with a variety of Business partners and finance professionals.
- Outstanding organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assess and evaluate financial data via use of computer analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a stressful work environment.

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate student with an interest the Source to Settle process at the AAMC (sourcing, contracting, procurement and accounts payable).
This is an introductory, preparatory, and training opportunity for college and graduate students designed to provide hands-on and practical Source to Settle industry work experience.
The ideal candidate has facility in exploring online databases and data sources, the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, and persistence and good judgment in soliciting information and data from internal/external websites. Specific duties will expose this individual to independent and team-oriented work opportunities so this person will need to be comfortable in working on a project-based activities model and is comfortable in the use of office technology tools.AAMC’s Source-to-Settle team is an integration of sourcing, purchasing and payment business processes at the AAMC. It involves the different stages involved in a source-to-settle cycle which include requisitioning, sourcing, RFx, contracting, generation of purchase orders, receipt, and payment of invoices along with every process in between. Our AAMC team strives to operate these business processes effectively and in support of AAMC business activities.
Upon completion of this 12-week (June-August) internship you will have a better understanding of the operational activity associated with the source to settle processes at a company, understand the business metrices associated with operational success and the total technology package used to operationalize source to settle business operations that is used in most companies.
