- To be responsible for the management, development, co-ordination, and implementation of a range of MES (Managed Equipment Services) replacements and minor capital projects individually under £1m in value.
- To assist other Capital Development Team members on major projects under direction, offering support in the execution of the Trusts Capital Programme as a whole.
- Provide a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with our PFI Hospital stakeholders, Estates Operations Managers and other Estates & Facilities Managers to achieve an effective and integrated Estates & Facilities service.
- Implement the Trust's MES Lifecycle Replacement programme, in line with the PFI contract and Trust's overall strategies and standards. This should take into account the NHS plan, the Trust's Service Development Strategy and other relevant local and national initiatives (estate and service provision).
- To be responsible for ensuring that all user briefings are carried out in a fashion that ensures the design solution fully reflects all clinical, functional and operational requirements of the users.
- To be responsible for ensuring that external design consultants are accurately briefed and their performance is managed and monitored.
- Lead project teams including external professional design consultants and contractors.
- Contribute to the overall management of the Capital Development Team through participation in business planning, management team meetings and specific projects.
- Assist and support the Capital Development Team in the achievement of the EFP Service and Corporate objectives.
- Provide authoritative and sound professional advice to both the EFP Service and the Trust across the range of estate functions.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to receive and exchange specialist, technical information related to engineering/construction projects. Sound project management skills. Effective communication skills - written and oral. IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrating maturity in dealing with multi-professional/multi-agency groups. Ability to be responsible for own personal development Competent with AutoCAD or similar and Microsoft Projects or similar
- Design and management of minor Engineering/Construction projects. Familiarisation with some standard forms of contracts used in building and engineering contracts (NEC3/4).
- Good working knowledge of Capital Investment Manuals. Familiarisation with P23 process
- HNC/HND in Engineering or Construction related subject or recognised professional equivalent.
- A basic knowledge of healthcare codes, standards, specific procurement routes and an understanding of statutory and legal processes in respect of site development.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to gain co-operation and compliance from those outside your management control. Effective communication skills - written and oral.
- Demonstrating maturity in dealing with multi-professional/multi-agency groups. Ability to be responsible for own personal development
