      Job Description:

      The Fisher School of Accounting is seeking to hire a UF student to serve as a part-time receptionist for the office’s front office. As a receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for many visitors to the college, assist in scheduling advising appointments, and assist FSOA staff and faculty via additional duties as needed.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner
      • Manage incoming phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members as needed
      • Manage calendars for the FSOA Academic Advising team for scheduling student appointments for in person and online
      • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
      • Assist FSOA staff and faculty to provide additional support as necessary
      Advertised Salary: $15.00 per hour
      Minimum Requirements:
        • Must be a currently enrolled student (non-business major) at the University of Florida, with at least 1 full academic year prior to graduation
        • 3.5 Minimum UF GPA
        • Availability to work up to 20 hours a week during business hours (Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM)
        • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
        • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as a team.
        • Proficiency in basic computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, etc.).
      Preferred Qualifications:
        • Previous experience with filing, typing, answering phones
        • Individuals who are highly organized and have a high attention to detail that can effectively communicate to a wide variety of parties and backgrounds
        • Individuals with flexible schedules who may be willing to work when class is not in session, but the University is open (between semesters, Spring Break, etc.)
        • Individuals who plan to stay in Gainesville over the summer semester
