What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide real-time assistance to library users through online chat, phone inquiries, email responses, and SMS/text-based questions
- Answer basic research and library questions for students, faculty, staff, and alumni
- Refer complex inquiries to librarians, following established escalation procedures
- Maintain records of interactions using reference tracking software
- Assist with updating and maintaining FAQs and perform additional clerical duties as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a current student at the employer who has completed a current FAFSA
- Ability to work up to 15 hours per week with a varied schedule
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a customer service role, especially in an educational or library setting
- Familiarity with library catalog, databases, and discovery tools
- Previous experience using reference tracking software
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to complete projects in a timely manner
