      About this Role:

      The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets, managing customer relationships, and implementing marketing plans in their assigned territory. Responsibilities include identifying unmet customer needs, submitting sales reports, and staying updated on industry trends to assess their impact on company products and services. This role involves managing relationships and making in person visits to public and private sector customers, including state-wide departments of transportation, counties, MPOs, local municipalities, consultant engineers, and contractors. The Regional Sales Manager will also plan and organize marketing events and training sessions, and coordinate sales efforts with the President and COO to increase product visibility and adoption.

      Responsibilities
      • Fill out weekly sales reports with CRM including call reports, project opportunities updates, account updates, contact updates, calendar events and relationship building tasks
      • Prepare, schedule, and present product presentations throughout their assigned territory
      • Build and maintain a working knowledge of current product offering, both from a sales perspective and technical operation of the product
      • Leverage company's excellent name recognition in the industry and build an independent network of contacts to advance product specifications
      • Manage a sales project from inception to completion, with attention to detail and communication; Ensure that all integral parties are in line with expectations on any project where your product is specified
      • Ability to be flexible in discussing budgetary pricing costing within provided parameters for pricing to meet customers' needs while maximizing sales goals
      • Maintain an organized schedule reporting within the existing company workflow
      • Show persistence in a very long sales cycle market
      • Various other duties as assigned by supervisr, management, and/or CEO.

      Requirements

      Competencies & Skills:
      • Excellent organizational and time management skills, required

      • Sound negotiation and consultative sales skills are necessary for this position
      • Strong communication and Interpersonal skills, with an ability to recognize and recommend value needed
      • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills required
      • Willingness and ability to represent the organization and products with the stellar manner with which we are known are needed
      • Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license with clean driving record and be willing to furnish proof of private insurance at any time upon company request
      • Availability to travel, including daily trips and overnight stays that originate on a weekend night for:
      • Sales calls and customer building
      • National manufacturer training/ industry conferences
      • Product presentations and trade shows in our territory
      • Project final testing and acceptance for the product is sometimes required


      Required Education and Experience:
      • Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, marketing, or related field is preferred; High School Diploma/GED, required
      • Prior territory management experience, required
      • Previous sales experience to DOT or consultant engineers, preferred
      • Outside sales and marketing experience, required
      • Previously demonstrated successful skills of persuasion and strong customer service orientation would be required including experience developing strong partnerships/relationships by understanding and anticipating the customer's needs, required
      • Proven track record of working with inside sales and technical, personnel
      • Prior experience being a vital resource to the executive level with accuracy of forecasts, preferred
      • Basic electrical, software, and IT knowledge a plus
      • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
