      Job description

      Job responsibilities

      • Maintaining clinical care standards during shifts while managing, supervising, and coaching non-registered care staff
      • Providing clinical care for unit residents, working with colleagues and the care team to ensure top-quality standards
      • Ensuring each resident has an individualised care plan with appropriate risk assessments, regularly reviewed and updated as needed and conducting case file audits to maintain standards
      • Maintaining strong relationships with the health and social care team, ensuring resident health changes are communicated to the General Practitioner and appropriate care actions are taken
      • Utilising systems and processes to identify and report incidents, accidents, and safeguarding concerns
      • Participating in investigations to determine root causes, implement actions, and share lessons with the care team
      • Establishing and maintaining good communication between residents, relatives and the care team
      • Participate in processes to ensure that residents, their relatives and the care team are actively involved in how the care home is run and maintained through regular engagement and consultation
      • Comply with systems in place for the ordering, storage, administration and disposal of medication in line with local policy, legislation and best practice guidance

      Undertake any other duties and responsibilities, which are commensurate with the grade of the job, to ensure the care home is well run and achieves the highest standards of care and support
