What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage the non-desktop research computing infrastructure within the division and other assigned divisions
- Develop standards, policies, and procedures for managing enterprise servers, storage, and databases
- Support strategic planning for non-desktop computing infrastructure alongside the Director of Research Computing
- Plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects requiring information system resources
- Supervise Windows server administration, Linux server administration, data storage and backup, and server administration
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, science, or related field with ten years of experience in an IT-related position; OR Associate’s degree with twelve years of experience; OR Master’s degree with seven years of experience
- Minimum of five years of managerial experience in an IT group within a scientific or corporate environment
- Experience in deploying services in cloud only and/or hybrid cloud environments
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in healthcare and/or scientific research contexts
- Experience in regulated environments (financial, HIPAA, part 11, etc.)
- Direct experience managing either Windows or Linux-based servers in high-performance computing environments
- Expertise in hardware and software management to support research operations
- Understanding of Windows and database administration
