      Job summary

      This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Research Team of Fylde Coast Clinical Research (FCCR), which is embedded within Layton Medical Centre, an NHS GP Practice in Blackpool.

      Recognised as a national leader in recruitment to late Phase II/III clinical trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas and recently designated an NIHR Primary Care Commercial Research Delivery Centre , you will be working in a fast paced environment with our research participants at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a HCPC registered dietitian with experience within weight management. The postholder must be detail-driven and have excellent communication skills.

      If successful the postholder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality clinical research supporting studies related to nutrition, metabolism, and dietetic interventions. Working within our multidisciplinary research team, the research dietitian will receive extensive study training and following completion of the training provide evidence-based nutritional assessment, advice, and monitoring to participants enrolled in research studies.

      Within this role the postholder will ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), study protocols, and NHS Research Governance frameworks.

      Main duties of the job

      • Deliver specialist dietetic input to participants in clinical research studies.
      • Conduct nutritional assessments and provide dietary counselling as per study protocols.
      • Collect, and record study data accurately in accordance with research and ethical standards.
      • Support retention of study participants.
      • Ensure the safe and ethical conduct of studies in line with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and NHS research governance.
      • Liaise across our multidisciplinary team of Principal Investigators, research nurses, administrative team and external partners including study Sponsors and Contract Research Organisations.

      The Research Dietitian will play a critical role in the delivery of a variety of clinical trials focused on weight management, obesity treatment, and metabolic health. This position involves working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary research team and our study participants.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Ensure timely completion of all key research study training modules required for the delegation of duties applicable to your role on specific clinical trials.
      • Deliver specialist dietetic input to participants in clinical research studies as per study protocols study training given.
      • Conduct nutritional assessments and provide dietary counselling as per study training given and study protocols.
