      The Opportunity:

      HKA is seeking an experienced Research Manager to support the information needs of our global consulting teams. This role enables high-quality client work by delivering complex, in-depth business and legal research that informs consulting engagements, expert analysis, and business development efforts.

      The Research Manager acts as a trusted internal partner to consultants, practice leaders, and administrative teams-translating complex questions into actionable research outputs. You will work closely with the Research Director and the global research team to shape best practices and use your experience to address the firm's needs.

      This role can be fully remote from any continental U.S. state. A hybrid role may be possible for candidates within commuting distance to a local office if desired.

      Responsibilities:
      • Deliver accurate, timely, and effective research in response to requests from consultants, firm leaders, and support staff.
      • Conduct financial and legal research using external resources including but not limited to Bloomberg, Capital IQ, LSEG/Refinitiv, DealStats, Factiva, Lexis, Westlaw, and BloombergLaw.
      • Synthesize research findings into clear, concise written outputs that highlight key insights and provide context for the target audience.
      • Document requests in a shared system and prioritize competing requests accordingly.
      • Develop expertise with all available research platforms and assist internal users with questions as needed.
      • Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in handling sensitive client, engagement, and business information.
      • Collaborate with Research director and research staff to share knowledge, contribute to internal initiatives, and inform procurement decisions.


      Skills and Qualifications:

      Required
      • Library Science degree (MLIS) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
      • Minimum of 3 years' experience conducting research in a corporate or legal setting.
      • Familiarity with corporate information such as SEC filings, financial statements, analyst reports, and economic or industry data.
      • Substantial direct experience using financial databases like Bloomberg and Capital IQ to support and fulfill complex requests.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and concisely.
      • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, request-driven environment.
      • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

      Preferred
      • Experience supporting consulting, litigation, or other professional services teams.
      • Specialized legal research skills are not required but would certainly be an asset.


      What we offer:

      Compensation - HKA offers a salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 dependent upon transferable experience, qualifications and overall fit. We also offer a full, robust benefits package including but not limited to Health/Dental/Vision Insurance through Highmark Blue Cross, 20 days paid vacation and additional time off, Retirement Plan with employer match.
