Job Description

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- Previous laboratory experience (wet lab with basic bench-top skills proficiency)
- Supporting existing and future research studies
- Wet-lab bench work, including but not limited to
- Molecular biology and biochem techniques (nucleic acid isolation from biological samples, qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, microarray, flow cytometry)
- Biomaterials
- Cell isolation from blood/tissue and cell/tissue culture
- Microbiology/bacteriology
- microCT
- Microscopy
- Clinical sample collection and processing involving visits to operating rooms, procedure rooms, and clinical exam rooms. Coordinating with nursing and surgical staff for blood, tissue, and orthopaedic hardware collection.
- Assist in protocol development and optimization (e.g. critical assessment of existing scientific literature and established protocols)
- Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team of research scientists, engineers, clinical researchers, and orthopaedic surgeons
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing timelines
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism

Responsibilities
This is a full-time position with mostly regular hours (9-5, M-F) but will require some earlier morning start times or later evening end times. The candidate is expected to work on-site. Pay scale is contingent upon prior experience.
