      Summary:

      The ideal candidate is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all resort guests, staff, and property. This role involves patrolling the resort premises, responding to security-related incidents, and enforcing resort policies to enhance the safety and comfort of everyone on the property. The officer acts as a visible deterrent against potential threats and is expected to provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.

      Essential Functions

      Job duties include although are not limited to:

      Patrol:

      • Perform regular patrols of the resort grounds, including guest room floors, public areas, parking lots, and restricted areas.
      • Check the AEDs to ensure that the battery is charged and that it is not blocked for easy access.
      • Conduct safety checks of the resort property to ensure no safety concerns; if found, report in Know Cross for repairs.

      Incident Response:

      • Respond quickly and efficiently to security incidents such as disturbances, theft, accidents, and emergencies. Provide immediate assistance and ensure incidents are documented.

      Associate Entry Access Control:

      • Monitor entry and exit employee entrance control access to restricted areas
      • Ensure only authorized individuals enter secure zones and verify IDs or passes as needed.
      • Conduct package inspection of associates leaving the building
      • Key control access. Assign keys to associates as needed
      • Assign keys to associates who need to use a resort-owned vehicle
      • Accept after-hour deliveries
      • Accept and log Lost and Found items

      Customer Service:

      • Act as a visible presence in guest areas and provide assistance, directions, and information to resort guests when required. Maintain a friendly and approachable attitude while enforcing resort policies.

      Policy Enforcement:

      • Enforce resort rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all guests and employees. Report violations and take appropriate actions to resolve disputes or prevent escalation.

      Emergency Response:

      • Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other critical incidents. Coordinate with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) when required.

      Report Writing:

      • Maintain detailed logs and write comprehensive reports on all security incidents, noting important details such as time, location, and actions taken.

      Collaboration:

      • Work closely with resort management, maintenance, and housekeeping staff to identify and address potential safety hazards or security concerns.

      Safety Checks:

      • Perform routine inspections of resort facilities, ensuring that all safety protocols, such as fire exits, alarm systems, and emergency equipment, are functioning properly.

      External Relationships

      • Has regular contact with guests, housekeeping department, front office.

      Internal Relationships

      • Reports to Director of Safety & Security

      Qualifications:

      • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
      • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
      • Physical fitness to perform patrolling duties and respond to incidents

      Education/Experience Requirements

      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a similar role (preferred)
      • Valid security officer license or certification (as required by the state or region)
      • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)

      Physical Requirements

      Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
