      Reporting structure: Reports to Controller

      Job title and brief description: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing month-end close, journal entries, inventory, and job costing. This person will develop and maintain accounting principles, best practices, and systems for collecting, analyzing and reporting information.

      Qualifications:

      • 4-year Accounting, Business, or Finance degree required
      • 5-years minimum experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
      • CPA designation preferred.
      • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Proficient with ERP systems; experience with Epicor software preferred.
      • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
      • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and job order costing techniques.

      Primary tasks:

      • Lead month-end close process.
      • Review jobs to make sure all costs are allocated before closure and investigate variances
      • Track labor and material usage, ensuring job orders are properly accounted for in terms of expenses.
      • Ensure accurate job costing entries into the accounting system.
      • Prepare periodic job costing reports, including job profitability and cost variance analysis.
      • Work closely with project managers and department heads to analyze project cost trends and address discrepancies.
      • Assist with inventory management by ensuring accurate tracking of materials used in job orders.
      • Maintain accurate records for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods related to job orders.
      • Coordinates annual physical inventory and variance analysis.
      • Manage inventory reserves.
      • Process invoices for customer shipments timely and accurately.
      • Validate sales, cost of sales and inventory as part of month end close and complete related journal entries.
      • Reconcile job cost accounts and assist with year-end audits.
      • Release sales orders based on status of account and credit limits.
      • Process customs shipping forms and documents.
      • Process freight invoices.
      • Ensure proper internal controls and adherence, to provide reliable, accurate financial information.
      • Ensure timely reporting of monthly financial information for internal and external reporting.
      • Focus on continuous process improvements in department and production.
      • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow
      • Financial analysis, profit enhancement and cost containment.

      Qualifications

      1. Five plus years prior experience in cost accounting in manufacturing preferred
      2. Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
      3. Integral team player who wants to be an employee owner in a growing international company
      4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relations across the organization
      5. BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
      6. Proficient in MS Office products with at least intermediate level of Excel; experience with Epicor software a plus
