      Job Title: Senior Analyst, State and Local Tax

      Location: New York City/ Hybrid role

      Responsibilities:

      We are seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to assist with the State and Local Tax compliance function. The Senior Tax Analyst will be primarily responsible for preparing and filing all of Cantor Fitzgerald’s and affiliates’ state income/franchise tax returns in collaboration with external professional services firm.

      • Preparation of corporate and partnership state income/ franchise tax returns, supporting work papers including but not limited to state apportionment, state modifications, state tax attributes, etc.
      • Assist with the preparation/calculations of quarterly state tax payments and filings of extensions
      • Collaboration with 3rd party vendor in providing necessary information required to accurately and timely execute filing of state returns
      • Information gathering of supporting documentation in response to state tax IDR requests
      • Assist with responding to notices from various state taxing authorities
      • Perform, monitor and document state and local tax research
      • Assist in various aspects of state tax planning
      • Execute sub-ledger, accounting reports and review journal entries
      • Train, onboard and supervise new hires and interns as necessary
      • Perform other tax compliance and administrative duties as assigned

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
      • 2-3 years of relevant experience
      • Proficiency in MS Office (Strong Emphasis in Excel)
      • Working knowledge of corporate and partnership taxation
      • Possess strong organizational and time management skills (must be comfortable performing at top level under tight deadlines and conflicting priorities)
      • Strong analytical skills and highly detail-oriented
      • Self-starter, capable of working independently and as part of a team with strong initiative and flexibility


      Preferred Qualifications:
      • CPA and/or Advanced Degree a plus
      • Public accounting firm and/or Fortune 500 Corporate/Partnership state and local tax experience preferred
      • General knowledge of Bloomberg Tax/Checkpoint research tool a plus

      Educational Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
      • CPA and/or Advanced Degree a plus

      Salary: $ 90,000 - $ 100,000

      The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held.
