- Leads in creating, developing, and implementing commercial projects with greater complexity and/or strategic importance within the Commercial Affairs project portfolio.
- Evaluates the economic and strategic viability of business opportunities.
- Negotiates business proposals and contracts with third parties that will result in the expansion of company business offerings.
- Prepares and presents business proposals to internal (including Colonial Leadership members) and external stakeholders (including the Colonial Board of Directors) which will result in an expansion of company product or service offerings.
- Assists in the evaluation and interpretation of market conditions and develops an understanding of existing and future customer needs.
- Provides key consultative role to Director in the development and implementation of Colonial's corporate business strategy.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to support Colonial business offerings by engaging in activities that highlight Colonial's business agenda through customer and industry contact and public speaking engagements.
- Acts as the customer's advocate within the Colonial organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
- 10+ years experience in the Oil & Energy field and/or Petroleum Logistics, with at least 5 years of business development experience
- Working knowledge/understanding of Optimization strategies.
- Competency in Discounted Cash Flow and other valuation techniques.
- The ability to build and foster strong working relationships both within the internal organization as well as external to the Colonial organization.
- The ability to make effective in-person presentations in high-leverage situations, including to internal Management, customer presentations or other key external stakeholders.
- Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.
- Self-motivated, have a phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration or other Technical field of study from an accredited college or university.
- 15+ years experience in the Oil & Energy field and/or Petroleum Logistics, with 10+ years of business development experience
- Demonstrated experience in commercial leadership and project management in large, multi-disciplinary energy infrastructure projects or energy industry M&A activity.

About the Senior Business Development Manager Position
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will create, develop, and implement commercial projects with greater complexity, size and/or risk within the Commercial Affairs portfolio. This position plays a key consultative role to Director in the development and implementation of Colonial's corporate business strategy. The Senior Business Development Manager serves as a key company representative in critical external interactions or commercial ventures. This position will take a leadership role in M&A or joint venture opportunities.
