      The Project:

      Mace, as part of MPA delivery partner joint venture of Mace-Parsons-Arcadis, have been selected as the Gateway Development Commissions partners of choice to support the GDC across the Gateway Program in New York, inclusive of the Hudson Tunnel Project.

      The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. A milestone project supported by the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the project is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.

      You’ll Be Responsible For:

      • Develop and implement a community outreach strategy that fosters open communication, addresses community concerns, and promotes project awareness.
      • Organize and facilitate community meetings, public forums, and stakeholder consultations to gather feedback, address questions, and build relationships with community members.
      • Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, and community leaders to ensure community needs and priorities are considered in project planning and decision-making.
      • Create and distribute communication materials, newsletters, and updates to keep the community informed about project milestones, timelines, and impacts.
      • Coordinate outreach events, educational workshops, and site tours to engage with the community and increase awareness of the project.
      • Act as a liaison between the project team and the community, addressing complaints, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive relationship throughout the project.

      You’ll Need To Have:

      • Familiarity with New York transit agencies such as PANYNJ, NJT, MTA, LIRR, Amtrak etc.
      • Relevant degree in engineering, construction management or significant industry experience.
      • Experience within heavy civils programs/projects, including tunnelling.
      • Experience in FTA projects is highly preferred.
      • Experience in delivery in programs or portfolios of significant value >$1bn is a significant advantage.

      You’ll Also Have:

      • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Community Engagement, or related field.
      • Experience in community outreach, public relations, or stakeholder engagement, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
      • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and cultural sensitivity to engage with diverse communities.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with various stakeholders.
      • Knowledge of community engagement best practices, public involvement techniques, and communication strategies.
      • Experience working with PANYNJ, NJT, MNRR, LIRR, NYCT, and MTA.

      The estimated starting salary for this position is $140,000 – $155,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
