  Senior eFX Backend Developer

  We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Backend Developer to join our eFX Engineering team. This role is located in London – Hybrid.

  In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Work closely with the eFX strat, trading, sales, and product teams to grow the BNY Mellon eFX platform by delivering new products and functionality
  • Contribute to the engineering first culture of the eFX engineering team by helping improve the quality of both our architecture and development practices
  • Be part of a small but focused team with opportunities to drive the future engineering direction of the team and take on significant ownership of areas of the eFX platform

  To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • BS/MS degree in a STEM / Computer Science related field
  • Strong Java development skills including experience with multi-threaded applications
  • Experience of high-performance / low latency development.
  • Experience working within, and delivering technology solutions, for the banking and financial services sector
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL, including optimization
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as an integral part of an agile software development team
  • High attention to detail and good analytical thinking
  • Experience in eFX applications focusing on FX / FWD business is highly desirable
  • Experience with FIX / ITCH / other common FX trading protocols is desirable
