Job Description
Senior Investment Analyst (Portfolio Management)
Permanent
At Aegon it’s our mission to help the UK achieve a lifetime of financial security. We’ve led the way in innovation that can make people’s financial assets work smarter as well as harder. From online technology that gives one-stop access to a universe of investment opportunity – to retirement products that make wealth planning simple, easy and fulfilling – we’re dedicated to getting people closer to their financial goals every day.
We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments.
As a Senior Investment Analyst your key accountabilities will include (but will not be limited to) high quality input to the asset allocation process and manager selection process. We need someone who can contribute by providing input into marketing materials, product reviews and competitor analysis.
You will provide detailed quantitative and qualitative fund research; this will include both desk research and fund manager meetings. It’s important that our Senior Investment Analysts are comfortable generating new ideas and making recommendations for funds to be used or removed in portfolios managed by the Portfolio Management team. As part of your role, there will be an expectation to deliver ‘deep dive’ investment research relating to various asset classes or focused upon the latest global investment themes.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the production of portfolio analysis reports covering ex-ante risk performance analysis and monthly will be accountable for presenting your findings at the team meetings. Your role will include making recommendations for portfolio changes to improve investor outcomes.
Being a team player is also a vital part of the role, we’re looking for someone who can contribute to the success of the wider Investment team and assist with tasks such as investment analysis and performance reporting to assist Marketing.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
It’d also be great – but not essential - if you’ve got:
What’s in it for you?
We know our staff have busy lives and commitments outside work, so we work flexibly where possible and have a hybrid approach to office working (typically 2 days in the office per week, 3 from home). We are open to our successful candidate being based within distance of our London or Edinburgh office.
As an organisation we are committed to supporting flexible working where possible, so let us know in your application if your circumstances require some flexibility (e.g. compressed hours or a job share) and we'll do our best to accommodate.
We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our staff live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.
We ask everyone to be brave, raise their game, deliver first time, help others, and act in everyone’s best interests. If you recognise yourself in this, we’d love to hear from you.
