      Senior Java Developer (VP Level)
      Whippany, NJ

      As a Barclays Senior Java Developer (VP Level) you will engage in business deliverable projects in the Intraday Risk and Profit and Loss Space as well as liaison with COO, PMO office, Risk Manager, Quants and trading to build out and enhance front office risk reporting system. You will assist in new product user requirements, conduct daily risk reporting function, act as IT lead to drive full IT development life cycle, and prototyping. Lastly, you will oversee architecture and design, development, testing, and release and production supports.

      What will you be doing?
      • Interacting with COO, PMO office, Risk Manager, Quants and trading to collect functional requirements and perform analysis
      • Performing functional and technical design and data modelling based on user requirements, provide effort estimation and detail project plan
      • Designing and developing of important service layer, integrate with front-end and various service components and tools into Risk Eco systems
      • Building and testing the approved design and creation of release notes for implementation into production in accordance with the agile best practices
      • Working with Run-the-bank organization and perform user training, documentation and production support for live systems
      • Leading and evaluating new technologies in the Market and conduct technical POC
      • Designing components of application, perform training, and having sound verbal and communication skills are required to perform the role
      • Working with other IT teams as well as own team members in US, UK, Czech Republic and India, and having good people skills and being a true team player

      What we’re looking for:
      • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field, financial background is preferred
      • In depth knowledge of multi-threaded, high throughput, low-latency design of Java service components
      • Understanding of Core Java and VM construction, GC and memory optimization
      • Knowledge of Financial industry including Derivatives products

      Skills that will help you in the role:
      • Solid experience working with Java and one of the industrial messaging technology platforms (Kafka, flume, Solace, TIBEMS, or MQ)
      • Experience with Pl/Sql and Oracle or other commercial database. Previous exposure to J2EE and other web application server platform or Spring micro services frameworks
      • Experience with ingesting data / retrieving data from ElasticSearch
      • Experience with Team City integration, Nolio and SonarQube, AWS or other cloud service platforms
