- To manage a defined caseload of service users, of a working age, withing the CMHT, with complex mental health and physical needs in the community, using evidenced based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate OT Interventions.
- To provide OT professional advice for MDT and support staff
- To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the OT service within the team, taking responsibility for defined projects
- To regularly supervise OT students on fieldwork placement
- Following the occupational case formulation, the post holder will make recommendations to access support from appropriate professionals and agencies, or deliver OT interventions with the aim of gaining or restring a balance of occupational and/or life roles for the individual
- Pay Enhancements 30% additional for Evenings (8pm onwards) and Saturdays and 60% additional for Sundays and Bank holidays.

Job summary
The GMMH rehabilitation service have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative occupational therapist to be part of the Home Engagement and Rehabilitation Team. The service is establishing a strong reputation for providing bespoke, intensive and individualised care to service users living with enduring mental health problems to enable them to live their lives to their full potential.
The successful candidate will play a central role within the MDT to ensure high quality, recovery focussed care is delivered to service users in the community.
The role involves managing of a small caseload of service users on the short term intervention pathway, for whom the post holder will lead on the assessment, collaborative care planning and provision of interventions. It will also involved offering specialist OT advice and intervention for service users care co-ordinated by other members of the MDT.
The service covers a large geographical area including all of Manchester and Salford, therefore there is an expectation that the postholder will travel across the footprint.
You will require a good understanding of the principles of mental health rehabilitation and an awareness of the delivery of community mental health care.
The team has extended hours, offering our service users enhanced support from 8am - 8pm Monday - Sunday. This post will need be Mon-Fri.
Full induction and training will be given as part of the role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will maintain a recovery focus and will demonstrate skill and sensitivity in the assessment of vulnerable service users with higher level of needs.
The post holder will also be responsible for the organisation and supervision of recovery workers within the team. They will also be confident in responding to crises where necessary, delegating tasks to colleagues as appropriate. The post holder will play a key role in the development of the service, by assisting the leadership team in day-to-day operations, organising, leading, teaching, supervising and supporting junior colleagues.
