What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform registration, billing, follow-up, and collection functions for all payers, including self-pay
- Verify insurance benefits and process financial assistance applications
- Contact patients for necessary information related to registration and billing
- Resolve inquiries related to patient accounts and post payments, adjustments, and denials
- Act as a liaison to outside vendors and assist management with training new staff
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in medical registration, billing, customer service, or collections
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using computers and office applications
- Ability to operate office equipment such as calculators, fax machines, and copiers
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with electronic billing systems
- Familiarity with healthcare billing regulations and compliance plans
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
