What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Act as the on-property liaison for group sales, managing contracts and site inspections
- Achieve group revenue goals by actively up-selling business opportunities
- Develop and implement group sales revenue and operation budgets
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and new customers to facilitate future bookings
- Ensure seamless turnover between sales and operations while delivering high service quality
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, or related fields
- Alternatively, a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years of experience
- Proven large group sales experience (preferred)
- Strong negotiation skills and creative selling abilities
- Ability to analyze market conditions and respond effectively to opportunities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in managing large group sales
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry's competitive landscape
- Ability to build strong community relationships for sales opportunities
- Prior experience in event management or customer service excellence
- Knowledge of Marriott's Customer Service Standards and brand initiatives
