  Senior Test development Engineer – Eastbourne

  To develop and support test equipment development for controllers, instrumentation and interfaces to meet the business needs of Atlas Copco Vacuum Technique Divisions.

  Main Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the design and programming of Automated Electronic Test Systems (ATE) including Keysight i3070 In-Circuit-Test fixtures design and software development for PCA tests and bespoke Functional test systems for Module level testing
  • Work with NPI team to define new product test strategy and introduce Design-for-test principles
  • Apply test statistical techniques and use data analysis tools (Keysight Pathwave and SQL server) to improve failure rate and test quality
  • Provide testability analysis for new designs and incorporate design-for-test techniques
  • Work with outsourcing partners as required to manage workloads
  • Provide documentation required to maintain and operate test equipment

  Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

  Key Skills

  • 3+ years proven experience as a Test Development Engineer in a professional electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience creating automated tests using Visual Studio, .Net (C# and Visual Basic) software environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic theory and ability to read and work from electronic schematics
  • Experience using various test equipment including Digital Acquisition and electrical safety testers.
  • Strong investigation skills and ability to establish root cause of problems
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise to meet project targets.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to deal professionally with all levels of the team.
  • Have an ‘eye for detail’
  • Experience working with in a distributed team
  • Familiar with EN61010
  • Ability to assert authority to prevent sub-standard test equipment entering the production environment.
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline

  Desirable Skills

  • Experience using Keysight i3070 software or other PCA test environment
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams.
  • Experience of hands-on testing using real equipment (vacuum pumps, abatement etc.)
