      About the role

      As the Software Developer, specialist you will be responsible helping to design, build, optimize, drive enhancements and maintain mission critical applications/technologies that allow our business partners to proactively manage business processes. You'll work independently and be a key contributor in defining and designing future state technical strategy. You will also evaluate functional and technical problems of complex applications and technologies identifying and analyzing risks and design trade-offs; and work effectively with business and technical subject matter experts, other developers, systems analysts, quality assurance analysts and third party vendors ensuring that deliverables are met.

      What you will do

      • Analyze functional application design and develop/test detailed programs for complex components. Participate in strategy development, requirements definition, design walkthroughs, and code reviews. Design and document system integration/configuration as required.
      • Help with day to day operational activities, research with issues, coordination with managed service providers, helping application teams with certain application design and architecture, Mainframe product evaluations as well as modernization.
      • Utilize application development tools and methodologies across multiple platforms. Identify opportunities for improving application functionality and performance issues by working with customers and architecture resources.
      • Help mentor and coach application developers, interns and associates and act as a knowledgeable subject matter expert.
      • Support and solve critical production support issues. Perform urgent problem resolution, including 24x7 on call support.

      Salary Range: $117,900 - $196,500 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program target of 10%.

      Requirements

      Your experience and skills

      • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Equivalent work experience may be accepted.
      • Minimum of 8+ years of working administrative and operational knowledge with Mainframe tools like Endevor, ACF2, CICS, DB2, MQ, COBOL is required.

      • Have expert technical understanding of relevant technologies , business processes and systems.
      • Track record of meeting deadlines and delivering high quality results.
      • Accountability and ownership of technical strategy, design and work output.
      • Adaptability, including dealing effectively with ambiguity.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of IT and business management.
      • Implementation experience with waterfall/SDF and Agile development methodologies.
      • Working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, Web Services and real-time integration related to Mainframe.

      • Strong SQL development skills. Experience with SDF development methodologies, Waterfall and Agile.
      • Background in Insurance, Investment or Financial business & systems preferred.
