It is the mission and intent of this position that the incumbent will take a leading role in the Banquet Kitchen, supporting the Banquet Chef, leading and inspiring the team to create a 5 Star, 5 Diamond environment.
The Banquet Sous Chef will in conjunction with the Banquet Chef lead the culinary team. Working to maintain quality in food and work environment.
Daily communication between Garde Manger, Pastry, Catering and Events Management departments are very essential. Internal & external communication are of utmost importance as respect and communication will promote an excellent environment in which to work and will provide for will encourage and promote a sense of collaboration and cooperation amongst the team. You are expected to be a “team player,” anticipate guest needs, and provide guests & colleagues with a friendly experience. Work with the spirit of cooperation to achieve our goal of “Being the Best.”
The Sous Chef will report directly to the Banquet Chef.

The Mandarin Oriental name was established in 1985 following the merger of Mandarin International Hotels Limited and the holding company of the hotel The Oriental, in which Mandarin had already acquired a 49% stake in 1974.
