What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide strategic leadership and operational support for the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research (IPPSR)
- Co-lead educational programs and policy training initiatives
- Expand outreach to policymakers, campus units, and peer institutions
- Manage and grow large data projects and research dissemination
- Engage in fundraising and development activities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master’s degree and at least 6-8 years of experience in government, law, policy affairs, or public policy; or bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience
- At least three years of professional experience leading teams and managing projects in public policy arenas
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain strategic relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience in program development and execution, strategic planning, and budget administration
- Commitment to civic engagement and public service
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Strong familiarity with Michigan and national policymaking
- Strong writing, editing, and public speaking skills
- Familiarity with strategic planning and administrative procedures in a university setting
- Experience with data-driven policy analysis or survey research
- Commitment to mentoring and developing student research teams
