      Coverage: IU Health Methodist Hospital, IU Health North Hospital & IU Health Fishers

      Schedule

      This role follows a Weekend Option structure with three 12‑hour shifts:

      • Saturday: 5:45 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.
      • Sunday: 5:45 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.
      • One additional weekday shift

      Top Responsibilities

      • Review patient lists and divide appropriately among providers
      • Determine and coordinate post‑operative scheduling
      • Support and monitor ICU traffic across Methodist, North, and Fishers
      • Participate in admission and consultation rotations
      • Facilitate consultations and patient transfers with the ICU
      • Calculate and report daily census numbers
      • Assign new overnight business to appropriate teams and enter assignments in Cerner
      • Coordinate all consults, admissions, transfers, and pre‑op activities
      • Ensure call and team schedules are updated and communicated
      • Coordinate weekend assignments and admission order
      • Manage patient call line and assist patients/families with post‑discharge needs
      • This position is responsible for coordinating all consult, admission, transfer, and post‑operative workflows for the acute care provider teams.

      Role Summary

      This position is responsible for coordinating all consult, admission, transfer, and pre‑operative workflows for the acute care provider teams. The role is based at IU Health Methodist Hospital and provides remote operational support for IU Health North and IU Health Fishers. This individual ensures smooth transitions of care, accurate team assignments, and timely communication across departments. This will become a Hybrid role (1 day per week remote) upon successful completion of training and must maintain performance standards.

      Qualifications

      • High school diploma or equivalent required.
      • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or LPN program preferred.
      • Previous experience in admitting, bed management, patient placement/throughput, or similar hospital operations preferred, including familiarity with demographic and payer‑related financial requirements.
      • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with clinical and operational partners.
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work professionally with physicians, hospital leadership, patients, and nursing staff at all levels.
