      Job summary

We havea fantastic opportunity for you as a forward-thinking Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult Team.The post will suit band 6 looking to develop specialist skills orexperienced band 5. The successful applicant will have experience working in an adult acute environment, independently managinga dysphagia caseload. You willneedexcellent communication skills and demonstratethe ability to work flexibly seeing a varied caseload of patients, providing specialist SLT in our acute settings to patients with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders,providingspecialist knowledge, training, advice and support to colleagues, patients and carers. As well as developing leadership skills, you will have the opportunity toprovide, training, supervision for staffand students. You can also contribute to internal student and colleague training programmes. You will work alongsideexperiencedSLT clinicians, benefitingfrom expert knowledge and skills to support your development. We are a friendlyand supportive team, with dedicated CPDtime,case discussions, in house training, supervision, external speakers and in house leadership opportunities.

      Main duties of the job

      Advert continued.Yearly appraisals and Job planning is an integral part of your development and funding for external courses is also available. We have well-established SLT led Video fluoroscopy andFEES services, so opportunities to access these instrumental assessments to help to shape your clinical practice would also be available.

      To provide an effective and efficient speech and language therapy service to adult clients within the inpatient setting . You will manage a specialist adult caseload in this clinical area. Duties will include providing a specialist level of clinical expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties, planning therapy programmes and discharge of patients.
