Job Description
- Req#: 3536
- Support the offshore wind projects during pre-FEED, FEED and detailed design, with a focus on electrical architecture of the project including onshore substation, offshore substation and power cables.
- Support commercial and technical work with external vendors, including support the tendering and execution of RFI and RFP.
- Contributes in preparation of schedules and cost estimates for electrical packages.
- Leads and supports engineering studies of overall high voltage equipment.
- Tasks typically include:
- Definition of employer’s requirements and technical specifications.
- Development of electrical architecture, HV equipment configurations and preliminary sizing.
- Definition of subcontractor scopes of work.
- Review of contractor engineering reports and installation plans.
- Evaluation of technology readiness.
- Exchange with the other engineering teams within the different divisions of EDF Renewables.
- Participate actively in conferences/seminars to stay on the cutting edge of technology and to develop and maintain relationships with potential service providers who can support the team.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in the field of power systems, preferably offshore engineering.
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering degree, or related field required
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of wind energy production.

Scope of Position
The Sr Electrical Engineer will support the development and construction of offshore wind projects in North America. More specifically, primary missions are to perform and review electrical design for offshore floating wind projects.
Responsibilities
75% - Lead electrial engineering work related to offshore wind cable system
20% - Participate in project team meetings, due diligence review and cross discipline cooperation:
5% - Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel for 3-5 days at a time to coordinate with technical teams, attend conferences or meet with partners as needed. Comfortable boarding vessels to visit offshore projects
Working Conditions:
85% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. Approximately 15% of the time is spent in the field nationally and internationally, visiting potential and existing projects, recognizing and assessing the sites, and meeting with project team members, officials and landowners.
Pay range: $112,500 to $187,500 annually
