Job Description

- Mentor and coach engineering team members.
- Provide oversight and support for the Mechanical Integrity Inspection program
- Oversee design, specification, and selection of mechanical equipment, including inspection and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design and reliability issues.
- Serve as an expert in mechanical systems engineering, assisting Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians and interpreting relevant codes and standards.
- Collaborate with Operations & Maintenance to optimize and troubleshoot fixed equipment.
- Develop maintenance programs for fixed equipment, specifying procedures and frequencies.
- Collaborate with OEMs to improve mechanical reliability and maintenance practices.
- Lead RCFA for mechanical incidents and issues.
- Assist in turnaround planning and execution.
- Participate in the Management of Change process and safety assessments (HazOps, HazIDs, Risk Assessments).
- Support Operations and Maintenance for safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
- Track and report on fixed equipment performance and reliability.
- Develop KPIs for fixed equipment to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Maintain and update mechanical system documentation and standards.
- Capture lessons learned from key equipment.
- Evaluate new technologies for implementation.
- Address piping stress, vibration, and structural deficiencies through evaluation and design.
- Expertise in static equipment and their inspection programs
- General process plant knowledge, experienced with:
- Pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers (including air-cooled)
- Fired heaters
- Auxiliary equipment (air compressors, lubricating oil systems, etc.)
- Compressor systems and other turbomachinery
- Pumps
- Familiarity with ASME B31.8, B31.3, 49 CFR Part 192 and 193, and cathodic protection systems
- Knowledge of various API, ASME, NFPA, and DOT codes and standards
- Understands maintenance management principles, including predictive and preventive maintenance
- Knowledgeable in SAP or similar work scheduling/tracking software

The Senior Static Equipment Engineer reports directly to the Static Equipment Engineering Supervisor and serves as the technical lead for static mechanical engineering issues. Responsibilities will include technical oversight and monitoring of all critical fixed mechanical assets in the operating facilities (including piping and structures). Provides advanced troubleshooting techniques where required and leads Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on mechanical incidents or systems needing repairs. The Senior Static Equipment Engineer will develop and help administer Mechanical Integrity inspection & preventative maintenance programs for fixed equipment. The Senior Static Equipment Engineer will also be responsible for capturing lessons learned from all mechanical equipment issues and applying these lessons forward to existing and new assets.

Minimum Qualification/Work Experience
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering
Minimum Experience Required: 10 years’ experience in a process industry setting in mechanical equipment engineering, operations or maintenance. E xperience with LNG, NGL, cryogenic / natural gas processing, petrochemical, or other hydrocarbon processing facilities.
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineering License
Preferred Experience: Prior experience as a Senior Engineer. 15+ years’ experience in an LNG processing facility or in the LNG industry. Recent equivalent experience in NGL, cryogenic / natural gas processing, petrochemical, or other hydrocarbon processing facilities may be acceptable. S pecific expertise in fixed equipment.

HSE Roles and Responsibilities
Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG HS&E Management System, including implementation of Process Safety Management. Actively participates in application of HS&E Management System Policies, including Management of Change. Ensure that HS&E concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
Working Conditions and Physical Expectations
Work Environment
• Primarily operates in a professional office environment within or adjacent to a hydrocarbon process plant. Sometimes operates in a control room, field equipment room, machine enclosure, or process plant field environment.
• Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and filing cabinets.
• Routinely uses typical office, control room, & field communications equipment such as computers, hand-held devices, phones, videoconferencing devices, and radios.
• Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions, including Fire Resistant Clothing, and hearing protection, where required.
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
• Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy weather conditions.
• Exposure to moving mechanical equipment and electrical circuits.
• Exposure to constant, or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.

• Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift.
