      · The Senior Software Engineer will be a member of the Engineering R&D team working on the software development and support of medical devices. Works closely with other members of the engineering staff to provide technical solutions to engineering problems.

      · The Sr Software Engineer will participate in the creation of design documentation, software code, software unit test plans, and other project artifacts.


      A Day in the Life

      As a Sr Software Engineer, you will join a team of talented and driven engineers driving the development and commercialization of Medtronic’s next-generation Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) platform. You will have the unique opportunity to build the unit testing framework on software frameworks to mitigate these risks for the underlying robotic platform. This is a great role that will enable you to gain a strong knowledge of different software components across the robotic system.

      You will:

      · Design and develop of embedded real-time platform software for robotic platform.

      · Participate in software requirements analysis, Requirement’s development and Design and development of software

      · Perform required documentation (Design Documents, FMEA) - of software development activities

      · Participate in requirement reviews, code and design reviews, risk assessment and mitigation efforts.

      Must Have: Minimum Requirements

      Qualifications

      Education: A bachelor's degree in in Computer Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent degree and 8-12 years of professional work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.

      Basic:

      · Experience in Design and development of embedded software using C++ 11 and Above

      · Experience in Linux OS concepts or Any RTOS.

      · Experience in Linux Commands

      · Experience with common development tools: environments, compilers, build management software, debugging and source control tools, etc.

      · Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build consensus and establish common goals.

      · An insatiable intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn quickly in a complex space.

      Preferred :

      • Embedded Communication protocols I2C, SPI, TCP, UDP etc.
      • Experience in Unit testing Google Test
      • Experience with distributed real-time software.

      · Experience performing risk management analysis of software (e.g. SW FMEA).

      · Familiarity with Agile development methodology.
