      About the role:

      The position involves active participation in the Dysplasia and Anal Cancer Services and associated teaching/research activities. The postholder will be expected to contribute to this team through the sensitive and precise provision of High-Resolution Anoscopy (HRA) services, including HRA-directed treatments and onward referral, where appropriate.

      Promotion of good patient care, including regular audits of activity, and the good reputation of the department and the hospital are expected.

      Selection Criteria:

      • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
      • Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
      • Demonstrated awareness of, and sensitivity to, the needs of marginalised communities, including populations at elevated risk of anal cancer. Ability to deliver trauma informed, culturally safe, and person-centred care, with an understanding of the social determinants of health and barriers to healthcare access.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain clinical information clearly, build rapport with patients, and communicate effectively with colleagues, referrers, and external stakeholders. Skilled in delivering sensitive information with empathy and professionalism.
      • Completion of High Resolution Anoscopy (HRA) training and competency, with demonstrated competency in performing HRA assessments and related clinical procedures. Commitment to maintaining procedural proficiency and adhering to evidence-based practice standards.
      • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to coordinated care planning, shared decision-making, and quality improvement initiatives. Proven capacity to build positive professional relationships and support an inclusive, respectful team culture.
      • Strong clinical documentation skills, including accurate, timely, and comprehensive record-keeping in accordance with legal, ethical, and organisational requirements. Ability to use electronic medical record systems efficiently and maintain high standards of data integrity.
      • Commitment to maintaining ongoing professional development and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
