Job Description
- Req#: R-0000022073
- Appraisal, arrangement and description processes of physical collections.
- Digital archival processes for born and digitized collections, using Preservica.
- Participate in implementing preservation strategies for efficient retention and preservation of permanent and historical records.
- Creation of finding aids.
- Participate in artifact and digital asset management activities.
- Enrolled in a Master’s degree program in library or information science at an ALA-accredited institution (MLS), graduating summer 2024 or later. Ideally with an archival studies focus.
- Knowledge and interest in library and archives technology
- A minimum of 15-20 credits in foundational library science coursework completed by the start of the internship.
- Must have attention to detail, initiative, and good communication skills.
- Should have a basic understanding of metadata

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
We offer paid, full-time summer internships for many majors, with fulfilling work and opportunities to grow. To help launch your career, we provide dedicated staff mentors. You’ll also learn from senior leaders and industry experts. As part of the Federal Reserve System, you’ll be connected to a professional network that spans the nation. You will begin in early June and will be based in the Dallas office.

The Research Information Services group within the Research Department is made up of archives, data services, library and research services, scholarly communications and web services. The group specializes in managing information at all stages of the research life cycle by providing research consultation, procuring and assisting in discovery of data and information resources, and disseminating, promoting, and preserving the Bank’s research.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Dallas Fed Research Information Services group is offering an internship for graduate-level library or information science students to work with the Bank archivist to process, describe, and preserve both physical and digital collections within the Archives. Projects may include:
