  Position Summary:
  Under general supervision, performs responsible work in maintaining zoological park buildings and equipment. In the zoological park, may assist the head of a general or specialized maintenance force.

  Principal Responsibilities:

  • Performs or supervises the performance of responsible general maintenance or specialized work with regard to metal, cement and stonework.
  • Performs or supervises roof and gutter repairs and grounds maintenance.
  • May operate compressor or other machine shop equipment.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Must work from a 40-foot ladder.

  Qualification Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • (3) years’ experience in building construction and repair
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License
  • NYC Welding License / American Welding Society (AWS) 3G and 4G certification

  Physical Demands
  The physical demands include but are not limited to the use of a Keyboard, 10-key, Mouse, and Telephone Use, Handwriting, Sitting, Standing, Crouching, Kneeling, Bending, Walking, Stair Climbing, minimal Driving, and Lifting up to 50lbs.
