      Qualifications


      Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.       You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:

      SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR IR-04: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Experience must have been in an IT Security field or work where the primary concern was the subject matter of securing the IT application or environment. This experience must be sufficient to demonstrate the ability to work with clients and customers to assess and/or address their IT Security needs, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, identify and resolve problems, determine relevant information, demonstrate using sound judgment, and make decisions and/or recommendations relevant to this level of expertise. Specialized experience for this position includes: applying regulations, other official guidance and principles, including the latest procedures and techniques sufficient to oversee the planning, development and implementation of the technical aspects of IT Security programs; serving as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or serving as an IT system administrator with security responsibilities; monitoring, installing and troubleshooting network security devices or applications connected to wide, metropolitan, and local area networks; project management of an enterprise wide information technology initiative; applying communicative techniques to effectively and diplomatically interact with internal and external customers; demonstrates leading computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques and skilled personnel pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated through assignments that required the ability to analyze several alternative approaches in the process of making decisions with limited guidance concerning major aspects of IT system design. This would include defining required personnel resources, project schedules, planning and implementation of technical aspects appropriate for a given project; and management of techniques, methods, theories, principles, and labor relations concepts, to assure optimum utilization of personnel, equipment and space for the accomplishment of all program objectives with combined technical and administrative oversight.
