      Major Responsibilities:

      • Work in a team of highly skilled specialists to identify improvement potential in our supplier base based on long term strategies.
      • Use a combination of Manufacturing Process Tools and data metrics to find areas of improvement in our supplier’s production processes and services.
      • Develop suppliers to improve technical, quality, lead time, and cost aspects.
      • Visit suppliers and work with them to thoroughly understand their product and processes.
      • Educate our suppliers of NOV requirements and specifications.
      • Enhance our suppliers’ knowledge of lean production and improvement processes.
      • Work with suppliers to streamline processes and material flow to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
      • Contribute to cost reduction efforts internally and externally by actively seeking and implementing opportunities for reduced costs.
      • Work with engineering on design for manufacturability concepts.
      • Support, help and follow up rapid implementation when decisions of improvements are made.
      • Monitor that improvements are efficient and facilitate adjustments if needed.
      • Facilitate and follow up when we realize improvement potential within our own organization.
      • Assist the organization on technical issues.
      • Perform Supplier audits in accordance with NOV Requirements, ISO 9001 and API Q1.
      • Conduct supplier audits/assessments as required to support Rig Systems’ supplier quality program.
      • Review First Article through onsite inspections or virtually based on job requirements.
      • Milestone inspections of critical parts and processes.
      • Support local Procurement team to provide assistance as necessary and requested.
      • Review and approve Inspection Test Plans for suppliers when assigned.
      • Assist with supplier selection, negotiations, and supplier performance when requested by Buyer, Category Manager or Management.
      • Perform Weld Inspection to NOV and code requirements.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or 10 years of experience in lieu of degree working within the manufacturing environment.
      • Location: 6390 N Eldridge Pkwy, Houston TX 77041.
      • Willingness to travel either within the USA or internationally.
      • Strong process orientation required.
      • In depth knowledge of several of the following fields preferred: Materials, machining, welding, NDE, surface treatment, assembly, hydraulics, electric/Instrument, testing and/or quality control.
      • Knowledgeable about industrial capabilities and proficient at navigating business practices and culture unique to the region.
      • Certified Welding Inspector certification (CWI) is preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
      • Previous auditing experience as an auditor or lead auditor is preferred.
