- Sushi Cook Responsibilities include the production of food, physical maintenance of his/her assigned station, and the coordination of those duties and products with the other kitchen stations, to meet the standards of quality set forth by the Post Oak Hotel.

- Help Chef to Create and develop innovative menus for Bloom & Bee, In Room Dining, Pool and Bar Lounge.
- Enforce all of the safety & sanitation rules and regulations.
- Coordinating opening and closing procedures for the kitchen.
- Inspect food products when delivered from purchasing for quality.
- Control with Chef par levels of THE DAILY mise en place.
- Attends hotel meetings that are determined necessary
- Help to promote communication between the different culinary departments.
- Work closely with the stewarding department to promote 5 Star cleanliness in the culinary work environment.
- Must have knife skills and able to filet salmon, Tuna and Hamachi
- Must be able to make a roll Nigiri and cut Sashimi
- Knowledgeable and well-rounded in all areas of the kitchen including cooking techniques, knife skills and product knowledge
- Must be passionate about cooking, practices and procedures.
- Has working knowledge of culinary techniques, be organized, move quickly, handle pressure well and take great pride in their demeanor and work.
- Possess great communication skills and display a pleasant and outgoing personality.
- Ability to work in high stress conditions, pay close attention to detail, handle multiple tasks, work efficiently and demonstrate high level of patience.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach and perform repetitive motions frequently for 10-12 hours a day,
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50-100 lbs.
- Follow all company policies and procedures including food safety program and safety and security.
- Serve as role model figure, be approachable, open minded, eager to learn and lead by example.
- Find methods to improve the efficiency of the department and increase productivity.
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

- One to two years’ experience in a Sushi Bar, Serve Safe certification is a must.
- Hotel opening experience preferred.
- Knowledge in and or experience with Forbes 5 Star service standards is preferred.
- Must have knife skills and able to filet salmon, Tuna and Hamachi.
- Have experience in and a passion for Hospitality.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
