      The opportunity

      The Virtual Market Segment Manager in GDS will be primarily responsible for strategic and tactical deployment support for go-to-market initiatives within a market segment (Industry sector or geography) or service line. They work closely with MS leadership to determine the activities and actions needed to implement business development programs that grow pipeline and revenue and drive growth. This individual also plays a key role in idea generation, project management, execution, and measurement of go-to-market programs and initiatives.

      Your key responsibilities

      Implementation

      • Assist leadership in the planning process for the market segment and refresh the Market Segment plan annually
      • Support team in market analysis and account segmentation/ prioritization for the market segment and collaborate with Knowledge where necessary
      • Active in the deployment of execution plans for go-to-market activities.
      • Plays a key coordinator role in the implementation of firm-wide business development programs within the market segment, including sales campaigns, growth platforms, and other prioritized initiatives that support opportunity development and account management. Track results of go-to-market initiatives and provide frequent status communications.
      • Team with Business Development functional specialists, Brand, Marketing and Communications, and other resources as needed to support market segment, service line, and account team needs.
      • Leverage the global EY network to connect our clients to the right insights and thought leadership.

      Executing the Account Management Framework (AMF)

      • Prepare and facilitate Market Segment Board meetings
      • Responsible for follow-up on account actions by tracking progress against deadlines and driving activities
      • Driving the revenue planning process for the Market Segment and following up with accounts to ensure timely completion
      • Understand and interpret Market Segment or service line reporting and analysis leveraging firm tools. Review and distribute timely financial performance and pipeline analysis information, including communication of key trends, opportunities and action plans specific to the target audience
      • Build and manage a repository of team information (i.e. MSEP, Board packs, Credentials, onboarding documents, team process documents, qualifications, etc.) and guide the team on how to access and use
      • Build and drive the MS community through accurate and targeted communication and bring them on a common platform using existing go-to-market activities

      Strategic Pursuits and Opportunity Management

      • Monitor pursuit activities within the Market segment and inform/escalate support requirements to the MS leadership
      • Manage the Market Segment pipeline and drive discipline across the segment by working with account teams and Service Lines
      • Provide additional pursuit support in the market segment (industry sector or geography) /service line where there is no assigned business development executive.

      Supervision Responsibilities

      • Strong influencing skills are required to work with other members of the business development service line or market segment/industry sector team to drive results. Also required to collaborate effectively and efficiently with other functional groups within EY.
      • Receives general supervision and is competent to work independently and virtually within the area

      To qualify for the role, you must have

      • A Master’s degree or bachelor's degree with relevant experience
      • 6-8 years of Professional Services experience preferred but not essential
      • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
      • Proven ability to work and influence cross-functionally and geographically and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and departments
      • Proven sound judgment and flexibility in balancing multiple project requirements, tight deadlines, and keeping people and projects moving on schedule, with high attention to detail
      • Understanding of business research/data analysis concepts across sectors and companies – strong experience in one or more sector/s would be preferred but not mandatory

      Ideally, you’ll also have

      • Exposure to tools like Tableau, PowerBi etc.
      • Credible experience working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment

      Certification Requirements

      • Expected to remain current on relevant EY training and curriculum (e.g., Account Management Framework (AMF), Lead Badges, among others
      • Successful completion of EY Global Business Development certification program within 1 year of hire (as deemed appropriate by the Client Management leader
