- Ensure the effective day-to-day management and organisation of the ward, including staffing, resources, and compliance with policies

Oversee the delivery of evidence-based nursing care to young people, ensuring therapeutic interventions are implemented and documented.

Facilitate education, training, and professional development for staff. Promote a positive, inclusive team culture.

Monitor clinical standards, risk management, safeguarding, and adherence to CQC and Trust requirements.

Work closely with senior leaders (Head of Service, Service Manager, Clinical Nurse Lead, Modern Matron) to develop and improve CAMHS inpatient services.Provide 24-hour managerial responsibility for the ward, including rota oversight, incident management, and escalation when required

- Ward management experience
- Nursing experience in an acute setting including a high degree of knowledge and experience on all core nursing areas relavent to a CAMHS GAU
- experience of working in CAMHS and CAMHS inpatients and applying core knowledge/skills to challenging scenarios.
- RMN registered.

We are seeking a full-time Ward Manager to provide operational leadership and management support on our 12-bedded General Adolescent Mental Health Unit. The unit offers specialist care for young people aged 12-18 who are experiencing acute mental health difficulties, as part of a wider system of community and inpatient services.
As Ward Manager, you will work alongside the Clinical Nurse Lead to ensure the effective operational management, organisation, and delivery of high-quality nursing care within the unit. Strong clinical leadership is essential, and the role will include some shift working to support role modelling and the development of the nursing team. You will champion evidence-based practice and therapeutic approaches that promote recovery and positive outcomes for young people.
Main duties of the job
Working in conjunction with the Head of Service, Senior Matron, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Modern Matron, the post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of acute CAMHS service provision across the Oxford Health pathway.
