    • Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for the work to be performed
    • CPR & First Aid certified preferred.
    • Monitor the safety of handicapped children.
    • Assist in the loading and unloading of handicapped students.
    • Follows mandated child restrain procedures to ensure children are properly positioned and restrained (Booster seats, seat belts, and wheelchairs).
    • Assist the bus driver in any emergency situations.to include evacuation if necessary.
    • Administer first aid or CPR to students as needed.
    • Assist students as needed to the school building and homes and ensure they are received by authorized individuals only.
    • Assist in completing incident or accident reports, when necessary or appropriate.
    • Assures the bus driver is not distracted from the safe operation of the vehicle.
    • Reports any traffic violation incurred by the driver to the immediate supervisor.
    • Assist in maintaining the interior of the bus in a clean and safe operating condition.
    • Assures that no child is left behind or left unsupervised on the bus.
    • Attends all staff meetings, team meetings, and trainings as requested
    • Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

      WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt
      >HOURLY RANGE: $13.25 - $18.29
      Minimum - Maximum
      PAY GRADE: AU-01

      PRIMARY PURPOSE:
      To give assistance to handicapped children so they may take full advantage of the instructional and related programs of the District.

      QUALIFICATIONS:
      Education:
      1. High school diploma or GED certificate required
      Special Knowledge/Skills:
      1. Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for the work to be performed
      2. CPR & First Aid certified preferred.

      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
      1. Monitor the safety of handicapped children.
