About the Summer Internship Program
The Summer Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in a specific area of museum work at The Museum of Modern Art. Interns participate in weekly professional development activities designed to increase understanding of the Museum’s various collections, exhibitions, and departments. The Museum hosts approximately 25 interns in various departments across our institution. Participants may arrange for academic credit through their school, but it is not a requirement.
MoMA Summer 2026 internships require a commitment of four days per week. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. One must have a minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by June 2026 in order to apply.

Department Projects & Tasks
Contemporary and Modern Art Perspectives (C-MAP) at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is an internal, cross-departmental research program that fosters the multiyear study of art histories outside North America and Western Europe. Founded in 2009, C-MAP builds knowledge about global modern and contemporary art by harnessing resources from within and outside the Museum. Through this directed effort, C-MAP significantly impacts MoMA’s collections, exhibitions, publications, and education programs.
The intern will be engaged with all aspects of our Contemporary and Modern Art Perspectives (C-MAP) Program, including our online research platform post (post.moma.org). The intern will interact with Museum staff across all curatorial departments to facilitate C-MAP group research. The intern will gain skills in both web publishing. The intern will take away a deeper understanding of the Museum's international work and partnerships with guaranteed exposure to international guests.
Department Skillset Requirements
Candidates who have earned or are working towards a BA in related field. Candidates should have excellent communications skills with preference for candidates who speak another language in addition to English. Candidates should also possess an eagerness to learn skills related to outreach and interest in international art and museums.
